RECOMMENDED CLOTHING FOR HUNTS
Due to the variable weather conditions here, hunters should be prepared for all extremes.
Warm clothing for cold, wet weather is a must, and so is light clothing for the warmer
days - layers are best. In the Spring, temperatures may range from 30 to 75 degrees F. In
the Fall, extremes may range from 0 to 70 degrees F. with the ever-present possibility of
rain or snow in either season. We urge hunters to avoid the use of nylon garments as they
are noisy in thick timber and make it difficult to stalk quietly. We stress that most of
our hunting opportunities are at close range, and the swishing sound of nylon can destroy
an opportunity of a lifetime. Wool and fleece are the best fabrics for hunting, with the
silence and good insulative value even when wet.
FIREARMS
Canadian law allows hunters to bring rifles and shotguns into Canada with a maximum of 200
rounds of ammo. Firearm magazines must be empty when carried in a motor vehicle. Handguns
are not allowed.
