If you want to really get away from it all,
we have remote camps and cabins on lakes with no other habitation--- very quiet and
private. Keep your own schedule, cook your own meals, enjoy; we will pick you up when you
are ready.
Icefields, waterfalls, caribou herds, alpine scenery--- all this and
more can be seen from flights in the area.
We have been exploring many seldom-fished rivers for years, and have
been able to consistently take small groups into superb fishing. We still have
"secret" spots where our group is the only group on the river. The scenery on
the flights into these areas is breathtaking, with glaciers, waterfalls and mountain goats
amid coastal fjords.
Blackwater River - truly home to some of the best dry fly fishing
anywhere, with wild native rainbows consistently taking drys on the surface, amidst
beautiful scenery.
You can expect to catch and release 50 per day, with the majority in the
one-to-two pound range, with an occasional four-pounder. We fish this river with barbless
hooks, flies only, and seldom keep a fish,. Favorite flies are: Elk Hair Cadis, Golden
Stone, Royal Wullf, in sizes 8 to 16. Season opens June 15.
