We are only a couple hours from Yellowstone Park- far enough to get away from the crowds, close enough to include a tour through the park with your stay. Besides Yellowstone area, well known attractions include: Bannack State Park, The Big Hole Battlefield, Lewis and Clark Caverns, Red Rocks Wildlife Refuge, Virginia and Nevada Cities and many less known wonders just waiting to be discovered.

Our horse trips are taken in the proposed wilderness areas of the East and West Pioneer mountains on the Beaverhead Forest. River floats take place on the Beaverhead and Big Hole rivers, with trips on the Madison and Jefferson rivers available.

Since 1972, Diamond Hitch Outfitters have helped fishermen, hunters and vacationers enjoy wonder-rich southwestern Montana. The area is a recreation paradise,blessed with spectacular scenery, fabulous fishing, and abundant wildlife. The old west is still alive here with ghost towns, cattle ranches, rodeos, Indian battlefields,and wide open spaces.

Our guided horseback trips combine riding, great fishing, wildlife, breathtaking scenery and comfortable camping in the unspoiled Big Sky Country.

The Sand Lake pack trip starts with a two to three hour ride up to our lakeside base camp. From the Sand Lake camp you have the option of day rides to different area lakes or rides up to where the mountain goats play. Or spend the day fishing, floating, swimming, hiking, riding, or just lay back and relax in the beauty and serenity of the Sand Lake area.

Or take an Adventure trip; a custom pack trip where we move camp every day or two as we explore the spectacular high Rockies of southwest Montana. You'll enjoy incredible mountain views, a variety of wildlife, high lake and stream fishing, hikes to rocky summits and the experience of horse packing.

Not into camping?

Enjoy a scenic horseback ride, high lake fishing and a lakeside lunch, or spend the day riding through forests, meadows, and rocky peaks. The emphasis is on riding, wildlife and scenery. Be sure to bring your camera.

At our summer camp, just off the Scenic Byway within the Beaverhead Forest, guests can stay in deluxe wall tents, take day rides around the area and soak in the nearby hot springs. Bring your own horse or we'll supply horses matched to your size and experience.

For the fisherman, we guide on two of the country's premier trout rivers, the Big Hole and the Beaverhead. Both are beautiful and unique rivers, famous for trophy Browns and Rainbow trout.

A guided float trip will give you your best chance at landing these trophies. We'll boat you to the best fishing and share the most productive techniques for catching these elusive fish. We offer additional instruction on our private pond. Bring your fly fishing or spinning gear.
