BREAKS

8x8-elk - Montana archery elk hunting, Montana mule deer hunting, Montana trophy elk hunting The Missouri River Breaks hold some of the best trophy elk and mule deer hunting in Montana. We hunt on the 73 Ranch. The ranch consists of 54,000 acres of prime elk and mule deer country. The Breaks, which are between 3,000 and 4,000 feet in elevation, are hunted entirely by foot. As every hunter knows, it's better to be in shape come hunting season. We can walk as many as five miles a day hunting these magnificent animals. This is the place to go and with our private access to the land and our professional guiding experience, Lost Creek Outfitters is the one to go with for that chance at a possible trophy animal.

Elk hunting is archery only in our area, unless you are lucky enough to draw a special rifle permit from the state of Montana. Deer hunting can be done by bow or rifle, and combination licenses for both species are available. As you can see from the few pictures here from this year, 1999 was a very successful season for elk and deer hunting, and we expect the same for 2000. There are still trophies out there. Hunting for elk is done in September, when the bulls are in rut, and that lasts for about 6 weeks. The deer hunting season begins at the end of October and lasts until the end of November. We hunt whitetail and mule deer, as well as go after antelope. man n deer - Montana archery elk hunting, Montana mule deer hunting, Montana trophy elk hunting

Bird licenses may be obtained from local sporting goods dealers. For those wanting to shoot a lot, there is also varmint hunting for coyotes and ground squirrels.
