COME join us on our private ranch in the Badlands of North Dakota, to hunt trophy elk and buffalo. Hunt the area like pioneers of old using a bow and arrow, or a black powder long rifle. Use your modern rifle if you prefer, but in any case, we will guarantee you a kill or you don't pay. We hunt on our private land with such an abundance of animals, that in a three to four day hunt you can take your trophy elk. We often have time to hunt mule deer, antelope, birds (which are in abundance), or several types of varmints that populate our area. If you don't have the10 days to 2 weeks normally needed to hunt for trophies with someone else, and you want ACTION, and you want to "bring it home", then Cedar Ridge Elk Ranch is the place for you.
Our primary quarry is
the huge trophy bull elk that populate our ranch. In your 3 to 4 day hunt with
us, we will put you on elk of which for the most part are 6 X 6 or larger. These
are big animals, and if you've never had a chance to take a trophy animal, you
need to come hunt with us. We guarantee it!
Our property is partially wooded and hilly, allowing these trophy animals to be stalked within range of black powder guns or archery equipment. You can just imagine the thrill of bagging one of these big bulls. Once down, we'll help you field dress it, cape it, pack out the meat for processing, and prepare your trophy for the taxidermist.
We hunt by walking, on horseback, or by four-wheel drive if you prefer. If needed, we can make arrangements for the physically handicapped. Depending upon the size of your party, we usually only hunt one party at a time. Therefore, we suggest you get your reservation in early to be sure you get the hunting days you want. We find that the best time for elk and buffalo begins in our area in mid-September, and full-mane buffalo may be taken until late January. You should also get a general hunting license for North Dakota, as we have an abundance of pheasants, grouse, Merriam turkey, and waterfowl we hunt on land. We might even take a fox or coyote. For the ones who like lots of shooting, we take you to our favorite prairie dog town for a little population control. In short, we offer you an excellent hunt, a good time, and great hospitality.
Our prices include lodging and home cooked meals. We have no hidden
charges! Elk, bison tags or licenses are not required to hunt on our private
preserve. We guarantee a kill or the hunt is free! 
Hunt dates are arranged
on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend you book early to get the
hunting dates you want.

If you want to hunt birds, other animals, or just ride around our ranch on horseback,
we will happily accommodate you. These activities are free to you if
you have already bagged your big game, except of course, the hunting licenses.

Deposit and Arrangements
We require 50% down to book and hold your hunt. This deposit is non-refundable if you cancel your reservation within 90 days of your planned hunt. If canceled prior to 90 days, we will attempt to work with you to reschedule your hunt for another time, or find a replacement to fill your cancellation. If we cannot find a replacement, we will return one half of your deposit.
We will work with you to make arrangements to pick you up at the Bismarck, ND airport,
which is 200 miles from our ranch, or Rapid City, SD airport, which is 200 miles from our
ranch, or from the Billings, MT airport, approximately 250 miles from the ranch. We are
not too close to any sized city, but when you get here we'll treat you like you were at
the Ritz.
