Both Fly Fishing and Lures work on our hungry natives. Our Fishing Pack Trips are scheduled during the later part of June, all of July, and August. This is due to the fact that during this period, the spawning Cutthroat Trout are most abundant. Thus, we can assure you of a . . . Successful Catch . . . Fishing Trip. |
This trip will take you to the headwaters of the Yellowstone & Thorofare Rivers . . into one of the most remote areas of the famed Teton Wilderness.
To reach our fishing camp entails a full day's riding on
gentle trail horses, through alpine meadows following the Buffalo River, over the
Continental Divide, through Two Ocean Pass and the parting of the waters, and drops
you into the Yellowstone River Country (see map). Twenty-four miles and seven hours later including lunch and break stops,
you will arrive at our camp on the Yellowstone Meadows with the beauty of Yellowstone
Park in the background.
There are miles of streams and rivers to fish. Bridger
lake is 2 miles from camp. You can ride for two hours and fish all day or you can
walk five minutes from camp and fish all day. This trip is for fishermen of all ages.
Fish can be taken on fly-rod as well as spinning outfits. You will be fishing for,
and catching Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout in the 14-19 inch, 2-4 lb. class. An experienced
fisherman, during heavy feeding periods can catch up to 15-20 fish per hour. (Catch
and Release Only).
We run a variety of trips that are geared to Sight-seeing, Photography, and Horseback Riding, with some stream and lake fishing.
